It is time that the voting public of Spruce Pine realized the honest and factual facts about the upcoming vote on alcohol in Spruce Pine on March 10th!!
Mitchell County is NOT a DRY County!!!!
It is reported that the Beer and Wine store at the Golf Course is one of the largest beer stores in Western North Carolina. Tractor trailers unload thousands of cases per month for the consumption of residents of Mitchell County, Spruce Pine and tourists. It is also reported that taxes paid to the State of North Carolina exceed $ 220,000 per year.
If the referendum passes, it will mean that the Town of Spruce Pine will benefit from the sale of alcohol in the town.
This is an income that can be used to benefit our Town and can be used to repair streets, water and sewer lines and other needs of our community.
I hope that our voting residents of Spruce Pine will realize that this referendum is NOT about alcohol!! It is about much needed tax monies, jobs it will produce and businesses the might locate here.
The Economic conditions in our county and town indicate that we must take positive steps to improve the welfare of our area.
The time has come for Community organizations and the public who have the true interests of our Town at Heart to come forward and support this measure.
I am NOT a user of alcohol, but I am supporting this measure and the economic future of Spruce Pine.
If you are a tax paying voter of Spruce Pine, please help support the positive future of OUR TOWN!!!!!
VOTE "YES" ON MARCH 10TH!!!
