Rhododendron Street Dance

The Rhododendron Street Dance will take place at the Bakersville Fire Hall in Bakersville on Friday June 16th and Saturday June 17th from 8pm to midnight. The featured blue grass band will be "Premium Blend". This annual event is sponsored by Bakersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue. Smoked barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and drinks will be served all evening. This is an event that the entire family can enjoy. Tickets for adults are $4 and children under 12 are $2. The Rhododendron Street Dance is held in conjunction with the Rhododendron Festival, which includes the Rhododendron Street Fair held all day Saturday June 17th. The change of location this year will allow the dance to be held rain or shine. So come on out and have a good time. In addition this year, all North Carolina firefighters holding current North Carolina State Firemen's Association cards will be admitted free of charge. Just present your card at the gate. Also a barbecue dinner will be held at the Bakersville Fire Department on Saturday June 17th beginning at 11am to 3pm. Pork barbecue, slaw, beans, rolls, drinks and dessert will be served. Sit down to eat or take-outs will be available. Adults plates are $7 and children under 12 eat for $3.50. For more information call 688-4437.
